Paige Casey filed the lawsuit in the Prince William County Circuit Court, with her attorneys stating that she was fired after "following the teaching of her Catholic faith" which they claim prohibits her from providing, prescribing, or facilitating the use of anything that could cause and abortion. The list includes hormonal contraceptives, continues the outlet.
Casey's attorneys allege that the company had previously respected her religious beliefs for several years before telling her they would no longer accommodate them in January, terminating her a short time later. CVS told 7News that as they enhance MinuteClinic services, they can no longer grant exemptions from essential job functions including education and treatment of sexual health matters, including pregnancy prevention.
